2GuysTalking - to -- Enterprise....

It's the franchise that has launched almost as many stars as there are in the sky, with a cast of characters that come to us as new but familiar. Will push-backed release dates, casting a series of reasonably unknowns, and a director known for his quick-cuts and jostled-camera wrangling lock phasers on target and kill one of the longest-running science fiction franchises in history?

The 2GuysTalking Podcast welcomes guest reviewer and fellow Trek aficionado Paul Spataro to this review of the most recent incarnation of "STAR TREK", which graced theaters on STARDATE: 200906.03.

The 2GuysTalking: Podcast Review STAR TREK - 2009

I spent 15 years in the world's largest STAR TREK Fan Association, "STARFLEET International" and recently an all-new incarnation of our woolen-shirt wearing friends from the future on the Enterprise was released. I had the pleasure of reviewing it for The 2GuysTalking Podcast Network, with my regular co-host Tony Lovasco and a long-time listener and fellow Trek geek, Paul Spataro from New York and I hope you'll take the time to listen. Also be sure to check out Paul's Charity Walk to lock phasers on Pancreatic Cancer and FIRE!

The Ultimate Fighter United States V United Kingdom: Week 7

Show Viewing Date: 5-14-2009
Show Title: Ultimate Fighter United States V United Kingdom: Week 7
Network: SpikeHD
Reviewed By: Mike Wilkerson

It's hard to believe that half of May has already passed by, but alas, here we are in the 7th week of Spike's The Ultimate Fighter on Spike! The UK is ahead 3-2 in the country vs. country tally and this week it looks as though we've got an ultra-zealous couple of fighters ready to bang! It's time for the review of a series that continues to satisfy, and brings even more shining examples of what makes up the realm of Mixed Martial Arts and is the televised test tube of the TRULY SavageScience!

As with many of my online reviews, I'll be reviewing this episode in a "stream of consciousness" format, giving you essentially what I'm thinking as the show airs. I encourage everyone to send feedback in regard to any of the points below and let's use this opportunity sounding-off point to tell us what YOU think about this year's Ultimate Fighter season.

-- Matter of fact fight launch? It looks as though without any announcement in general, we're going to see the UK's stud, Dave Faulkner vs. Jason Pierce, and right off the bat. that's an interesting change of pace that I hadn't anticipated, but seeing as though they're the remaining welterweights I guess that makes sense.

-- Pardon me, Would you please pass the Impetigo?
Yet another infection lights The Ultimate Fighter stage, this time it's not anything floating around the self-proclaimed talking wonder rod, Cameron Dollar, its RITCHIE! One of my favorites that we haven't really seen in weeks and we may have just found out WHY! He's got a case of something called "impetigo", a bacterial infection that can be read more about here:

The Ultimate Fighter United States V United Kingdom: Week 6

Show Viewing Date: 5-7-2009
Show Title: Ultimate Fighter United States V United Kingdom: Week 6
Network: SpikeHD
Reviewed By: Mike Wilkerson

The 9th season of Spike's "The Ultimate Fighter" is screaming by and we're 6 episodes in! This week provides us with another opportunity to see two fights, the answer to "where the hell was Bisping" last episode, and more sweet irony than you can swallow (and one of the fighters DOES!). It's another review of a satisfying series dedicated to mixed martial arts, it's fighters and the love of the TRULY SavageScience!

As with many of my online reviews, I'll be reviewing this episode in a "stream of consciousness" format, giving you essentially what I'm thinking as the show airs. I encourage everyone to send feedback in regard to any of the points below and let's use this opportunity as a rallying and sounding-off point as I begin this week's detailing of a sample of televised SavageScience:

-- Bisping standing alone to be grilled out his absence? As this episode starts, we see Bisping standing center circle and I'm ready to hear how he was fighting Yeti in the northern California frozen tundra! That he as fighting off wild wolves as he made his way back with the heaping carcass and only just got back and hey - here's YOUR yeti steakloin! Apparently I'm completely dreaming and wouldn't ever have the opportunity to see those things because he's not there to explain away his absence, he's just making the first fight announcement for this week's episode. I think that Dana and company really missed the opportunity to make sure that no one else in The Ultimate Fighter history, especially a coach, ever misses a fight.

It's Good to Be "Bad for the Sport..."

Something to share with folks, that will likely garner some great attention for the Network, hence it's shows as well, is an article hitting ESPN Magazine next week, that features Ultimate Fighter Championship (UFC) President, Dana White (the man in charge of the largest fighting organization on the planet) calling the online magazine I write regularly for - SavageScience.Com, "bad for the sport."

A bit of background - Dana apparently doesn't care for the fact that we talk about ALL aspects and organizations of the sport, rather than just smootching big ole' white UFC butt. The fact is, is that the sport and it's footprint continues to grow, and while the UFC has a lion's share, there ARE other promotions out there, with great fighters, super promotions and bright futures.

My goal here - in general - is to help remind everyone ELSE about another company that was once called "Bad for the Sport" and has not only taken on that moniker as it's trademark calling card, but become a $500mil company as of last year - TapouT (www.tapout.com).

Not only have them become wildly successful, but the organization that was "bad for the sport" now also has its logos on the board shorts and jerseys of EACH of the UFC fighters on the weekly UFC-based reality show I review each week (The Ultimate Fighter).

I guess "being bad for the sport" is kind of relative, isn't it?

Here's to the future of being "bad for the sport" - http://www.thesavagescience.com/boxing-author-13
