THIS - IS -- CAPTIONING! The '300' DVD's Golden Treat

Those of you that have any interest in the recently-released feature film "300" on DVD will have a shiny gold. diamond in the bloody rough bonus in what is the special features section of the disc. It's one of those things that you have only seen a few times in DVD history, most recently in the GLADIATOR Special Extended Edition - another true diamond in the rough that all should own. "What is it?", you say?

Wafers of gold, with the same dashing glisten of untold fortune as the shields wielded by the firey-hearted Spartans?

Nay, coy and stupid fans of 300!

It's the Director and Screenwriter commentary track! Not only is it wonderfully detailed in this new disc, this time it's also CAPTIONED! It's great to see this feature included as well as to see what I hope is the onset of more inclusion like this. it provides those who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing or detail-oriented with a level of inclusion that is so incredibly appreciated that I don't have the words.

I had the pleasure of reviewing this feature film when it came out in February this year with Comicnaut Podcast host Ryan Parker, and it was as grand then as it is now. With the addition of this captioning, it makes the experience even more enticing as a media presentation and harkens to another project I'm working on with Overcast Media, where you can actually make your own feature commentary tracks on television, movies, DVDs and more.

KUDOS to the creators of the "300" DVD and to the spirit of inclusion into the realm of DVD feature commentary track captioning!

How to Learn the Value of Potter's Realm...

I have to admit, with legitimate fear from wanton wand-based attack, that I am not nor have I been a Harry Potter Fan.

I nearly fell asleep on the previous movie, and the movies prior to that really had me in a listless "is-it-over-yet" state, surely akin to any of the spells that Harry and his crew can/have/might ever cast.

I have always wondered what is "the best way" to find more interest in this epic, earth-shattering and clearly popular series of stories and I think I've found it:

My podcast partner, Brian Sirimaturos, and his wife, Amy, have begun a series of "Harry Potter Book Report Podcasts" on our 2GuysTalking Podcast Network, and while I initially thought it would only be something to attract more traffic to the Network - it's become very much like what the 2GuysTalking: 24 Podcast has become to so many of the people that listen to it. It is a review, by FANS, telling people that have the same level or less knowledge regarding the series, what there is to like about the realm of Harry Potter.

Their "call it as they see it as 2 married-with-children fans" flavor can offer to those not yet smitten.

Their banter is outstanding, their knowledge of the material is stupendous, and the length of each of the casts so far is SUPERB. Give it a sniff over here on our Original Podcast Network and be sure to send them Email! They always appreciate it (just as we do!)!

Pinch Yourself but Fear Not - It's True...

I have been waiting - since - wow, 1994 wondering when they were going to release this series on DVD, and FINALLY, with the next/last Indiana Jones movie in sight, it has finally made it onto the DVD radar screen. For those of you that don't remember the series, it's one not to be missed and was the TRUE pioneer for not only what is modern-day special digital effects, but a once-in-a-lifetime petrie dish for a variety of actors, all who have come of age. It's something not to be missed for sure, and it's coming October 23rd, 2007. Read on below and don't forget to tell us what you think about this post and be entered to win your FAVORITE Television DVD Set FREE! Only from the 2GuysTalking Television Review Blogs!

Nielsen Ratings - Where do YOU rank?

While we've listed and talked about them in the 2GuysTalking: 24 Podcast, something I don't think we've ever tried here at the Television Review Blogs, is asking YOU, the reader - are you actually WATCHING what is listed as "number 1, etc" in the ever-glory-dictating Nielsen Ratings? Here's a listing of the current Nielsen Ratings and my takew on it as of July 1st, 2007, and I want to hear from everyone!

1. America's Got Talent
-- I've never seen it other than flipping through, like with so many other talent-based shows. If you watch, why?

2. Dateline NBC
-- I've watched the same amount of "Idiot Pedophiles Caught in the Act" jerky confessionals, but more than not - not really. Have you watched this and if so what OTHER THAN, the "Caught in the Act" segments can you tell me you've seen?

3. So You Think You Can Dance
-- I have never seen this show, but read about McCartney's Ex being on it. If you watch, do you have any interest in dancing or are you watching a celebrity television show where they're just dancing?

4. Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?
-- I have four or 5 glowing testimonials from coworkers, but I've not seen anything other than a commercial here and there.

5. Deal or No Deal
-- I've seen this because it's where I would get a nap in before "24" Ha! Any Howie lovers out there?

6. NCIS
-- This is the only show that I capture on Tivo and watch after I've captured like 10 episodes straight. I like Mark Harmon, I like the chemistry of the cast, the stories are a bit outlandish, but hey - what isn't nowadays?

7. CSI
-- I've seen my share just like you have, but nothing when it's new. How about you?

8. Law & Order: SVU
-- I've seen pieces of this while flipping through, but never seen a complete episode of it.

9. Two and a Half Men
-- I'm not a current Charlie Sheen fan. Have you seen it and do you recommend it?

10. CSI: Miami
-- I've seen probably 8 episodes of this in total, because I've always thought that lead actore David Caruso left for moviedom WAY too early and really does have some skill. I've not followed it but it apparently has audience. Are you watching it?

So there we have it - where do YOU rank in the Nielseon Rankings? Let us know now by surfing over to the TelevisionReviewBlogs.Com and let us know what you think!
